All about the PENÍNSULA VALDES EXPERIENCE – 6 DAYS 5 NIGHTS.

Itinerary:

DAY 1: Welcome by your guide at Trelew airport early morning.  We leave the airport and take a drive through the farming area by Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon. These towns in the valley still keep echoes of the Welsh settlement back in 1865. Around noon we visit a farm hosting the southernmost vineyards in the world. We will try their wines and other local products. In the afternoon we are invited to taste a traditional welsh-style tea service accompanied by a local choir.  You will be accommodated at Posada Los Mimbres, a family-run farm in the valley.
For dinner, you will be offered a special menu cooked with organic products.

DAY 2: After breakfast we leave for the Palaeontology Museum MEF in Trelew (12 miles) to visit the permanent museum exhibition as well as the Lab-backstage, and have an informal chat with the museum research staff. Next destination is Peninsula Valdes, declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and recently granted the World Travel Award 2019 as South America’s best whale watching destination. Halfway to the peninsula (55 miles paved, and 9 miles gravel road) we make a stop at Punta Ameghino, a panoramic point over Golfo Nuevo, where you will be served an outdoor gourmet country lunch and Patagonia wines. After lunch we continue our journey to Puerto Piramides (44 miles) and check into the Oceano Patagonia Residences. In case of unsuitable weather conditions, the outdoor lunch will be replaced by a fresh-fish and seafood lunch and chilled white wine at Hidden House Restaurant in Puerto Piramides. Following a leisurely walk along the wide beaches of Puerto Piramides, it will be time to take a whale watching boat trip to encounter the amazing Southern Right whales. This whale watching tour is unique in its kind and considered to be the best in the world by the National Geographic.  To go on a boat trip in the late afternoon is not a random decision, it is the time typically chosen by photographers to take their best photos of these amazing mammals against the sunset light!
Dinner is not included. We recommend three options: Hidden House, La Estacion and La Covacha.

DAY 3: After breakfast you have the choice to go on a new whale watching boat trip before the transfer on gravel roads to Estancia Rincon Chico (40 miles) where we stay 2 nights. Activities will be coordinated with the estancia owners. During the stay at Rincon Chico you will appreciate the beauty and varied wildlife on the farm and along its beaches, and learn about the conservation work carried out on site. There are bilingual tours guided by scientists and professional naturalists to the different beaches on the farm. Rincon Chico’s 10-mile-long-coast is chosen by hundreds of Southern elephant seals to breed, shed their fur or simply rest.  This place is also a paradise for birding, with over 120 different marine and land bird species identified.
Lunch and dinner at the estancia.

DAY 4: Activities on the farm: flora and fauna interpretation, hiking, mountain-bike and birdwatching.

DAY 5: After breakfast, we depart for Caleta Valdes, Punta Norte and Nature Reserve Estancia San Lorenzo. San Lorenzo hosts the world’s largest Magellanic penguin colony. Lunch will be held in the 100-year-old shearing barn. The menu will include traditional lamb BBQ and red wine produced in Patagonia. Once in the penguin colony, you will walk along special trails: just you, your guide and the park ranger. These tracks are exclusive to researchers and very few visitors. Transfer back to Puerto Madryn at dusk. Accommodation at Territorio Boutique Hotel.
Dinner not included. We recommend dinner at the hotel restaurant.

DAY 6: Transfer to Trelew airport will be organized according to your flight schedule. End of services.

Note: In the program from December to March the whale watching will be replaced by a nautical walk.

-Regular tour departs everyday from September to March.
-Private tour departure schedule is coordinated previously with the passenger depending on their availability.
