Initially we hike along the west coast of the Island visiting the restored Ahu in Hanga Kio’e and a reconstruction of a big Hare Moa (Chicken Cage). We keep on walking along the coast until we reach the first Cave called Ana Kakenga (the 2 windows cave). We will go into this by its entrance of about 60-cm diameter with head torches, caution, and agility. We will continue the slippery and rocky little trail inside the cave until we see the 2 “windows” and a wonderful view to the ocean. We go back to the next cave Ana Te Pora and Finally to Ana Te Pahu (the Banana’s tree cave). We will pass by beautiful volcanic rock formations and breathtaking nature, and then we reach the next entrance of the cave. After our hike through the darkness and secrets of the forgotten underworld of Rapa Nui, we will end up in the “Garden of Eden” – the hidden Banana Tree. From there we will leave the cave and walk towards Akivi area where a vehicle will be waiting us to return to the village of Hanga Roa.
