Excursion that tells us the history of the largest glacier in Argentina and its behavior in the last 10 years, during which it has presented a constant and marked retreat. It allows us to witness the marked erosion of the ice on the stone and its visible results. Extraordinary views of the Glacier are obtained from different points in a route through natural trails. Ideal for sharing with family and friends.
It navigates the bay in a southerly direction. The depth of the lake allows a pleasant navigation near the coast, which shows the massifs of Cerro Fitz Roy and Cerro Huemul.
Will sail through the front of the glacier, which can reach 40 meters above the lake level; And in its passage is possible to see big icebergs. After approximately 1 hour of navigation, we disembark in the rocky promontory opposite the Glacier Viedma to start the trekking.
The hike on the promontory allows us to appreciate the history of glaciations, the passage of large masses of ice polishing the stone, and recognize nature as the main modeler of the landscape we now enjoy. This promontory is an unseen terrain and is the ideal spot for the Glaciology talks given by our guides. During the tour we will approach the glacier to observe it from different heights and natural viewpoints, appreciating its immensity and the game of colors. Return to Tunnel Bay for the landing and end of the excursion.
