We enter the world of glaciers by Route 15 (the old route of stays) and from the Sectional Lake Roca of the National Park. We cross a valley that from El Calafate reaches the border with Chile, showing glacial signs of 20 thousand years until some moraines of the last decade.
In the area of the Estancia Nibepo Aike we embark in the boat Guardaparque Fonzo to sail by the South Arm of the Lake Argentino directing us to the southern end where we disembark.
We enter an unexplored site. A privileged walk to Lake Frías, a navigation in motorized zodiacs to cross and finally the rise to the Great Glacier. A valley with changing environments to reach the amphitheater of the glaciers. There we will have lunch watching the Great, Cubo and Dickson glaciers.
The hike includes 6 hours of walking and 14 kilometers of crossing, with little difference and medium technical requirements. On the way back, we shared some of our companions, to take the same Route 15, enjoy the sunset and return having traveled a real time line of the glacier era.
