We start early in the morning towards Península Valdes Protected Natural Area. After one hour drive we will arrive at Puerto Piramides, where we will go on a regular boat trip (optional) to see whales from June to December and sea lions and cormorants from January to March. After this we head to Faro Punta Delgada Hotel & Restaurante (open from July to early March) to arrive near lunch time. There we will also have the opportunity to go down the beach and walk close to the sea elephants. After that, we continue to Punta Cantor along the eastern coastline of the peninsula and we get to Caleta Valdés (Valdés Inlet). We are shown geological formations there and then we go back to the Ameghino Isthmus, with its interesting interpretation centre. On the way we have good chances of coming across wild land fauna such as guanacos, rheas, foxes, maras (Patagonian hare), armadillos and, skunks. Finally, we return to the city of Puerto Madryn at sunset.
