All about the BOLIVIA: LA PAZ & AMAZON – 6 DAYS 5 NIGHTS.

La Paz, seat of government and political-administrative capital of Bolivia, is the most indigenous and at the same time the most cosmopolitan city in the country. People from all regions come together as well as immigrants from other parts of the world, and there are diverse cultural conceptions and ethnic expressions that give her the unique physiognomy that distinguishes her. Its geographical and urban configuration allows the newcomer to easily orient himself in the city and feel permanently challenged by the changing facets that, from its different angles, it offers. La Paz at night is a wonderful sight, because it resembles the sky full of stars.

The Amazon forest is developed around the Amazon River and its watershed. High temperatures favor the development of a dense and lush vegetation, evergreen. The title of the lungs of the planet that holds the Amazon is not metaphorical as it maintains a climate balance: income and output of CO2 and O2 are balanced. Environmental scientists agree that the loss of biodiversity is a result of the destruction of the forest, which is evidenced by the appearance of the area in Caqueta a jungle forest system in which soils were used on an ongoing “land preta” thanks to its progressive and fertilizer so that you will avoid migration.

At 09:00 (or at 14:00) we will pick you up from your hotel and we get on the road to the city of El Alto, Bolivia´s youngest city well-known over the world by the great influence received from the aymara culture. There we will find the “amautas” (aymara fortune teller) and we will have the chance to ask them about our future.
Now it is time to continue our trip very close to the sky, in the highest urban cable car of the world, we depart from the panoramic station, which allows us to know this beautiful city from a whole new perspective; we enjoy the wonderful view of the Andes Range and a city whose houses and streets “hang” from the mountains, we will “invade” many neighborhood´s homes to observe how the “paceños” live from the perspective that the cabins give us the chance. We arrive to the popular zone called “Buenos Aires”, because of the official name of its crowded main street, this is one of the zones where the commerce gathers, we will walk by looking at the traditional street commerce until we arrive to a traditional market where we will get to know the traditional products of the region and their use in the diverse Bolivian popular gastronomy.
Return to the cable car station, where we continue crossing the city towards the south zone, on our way we will see streets and alleys, which lead into twisting avenues and beautiful landscapes. Now it is time to “invade” the houses from the residential areas of the city, which offers us the Royal Range as our landscape background.
We end our tour enjoying a traditional paceño´s snack, the “sandwich de chola”, which is called this way because it was originally prepared by women dressed with polleras (skirts) called “cholas”. Return to hotel.

      OPTION 2: CHACALTAYA
At 09:00 you will be picked up from your hotel, the trip starts going up, by a very scenarist and panoramic road, seeing beautiful lakes and lagoons of many and different colors formed by the snowed mountain melting. The road to the base of the 200-meter (660 ft) drop is reached by a narrow road, also built in the 1930s. Ascending by car to the refuge at 5300 m.o.s.l. a place from where we will enjoy a wonderful view of the Real Andean Range of Bolivia and with a just unique panorama, which you will just never forget.
Chacaltaya (5421 masl) mountain in Real Andean Range located about 30 kilometers (19 mi) from La Paz city, near to Huayna Potosi mountain. The glacier on Chacaltaya served as Bolivia’s only ski resort. It was the world’s highest lift-served ski area, the northernmost ski area in South America as well as the world’s closest to the equatorial line. Its snow disappeared, the meltdown was caused by global warming and natural variation in the local climate around Chacaltaya, but its weather is cold. The view is an incomparable panorama of the Real Andean Range as they are Illimani, Mururata, Huayna Potosí and others; you can appreciate the Lake Titicaca in the distance.
