  1. DAY 1 TRELEW - PUERTO MADRYN

    Morning arrival at the airport of Trelew and pick up the car rental there.

    You will have the chance to visit its interesting museum MEF (Egidio Feruglio Museum) with worldwide prestige as a benchmark in the field of paleontology in Patagonia, as well as a sustained international recognition. There we will enjoy a conference in English of the famous Paleontologist Dr. Diego Pol (discoverer of the largest dinosaur on the Planet (in Estancia La Flecha – Chubut).

    You may also like to visit the welsh town of Gaiman and taste its great welsh tea. Nearby you will find the Bryn Gwyn Paleontological Park, a reserve of more than 250 hectares.

  2. DAY 2 PUERTO MADRYN: PENÍNSULA VALDES

    Breakfast and morning departure with your car to visit the famous Peninsula Valdés, a reservoir of wildlife unique in the world. Few places in the world offer the possibility of observing so many animals in their natural environment. On the Atlantic sea, and 77 km from Puerto Madryn. There live the gigantic whales that you see a few meters from the coast, wolves and sea elephants, penguins, numerous birds, guanacos and other species land are concentrated in this Nature Reserve of 360 thousand hectares where there are almost no inhabitants. In Puerto Pirámides during the whales season (June to December) you will be able to embark on boats to experience the navigation between whales.

    We suggest you to  also visit Punta Norte (where Sea Elephants inhabit) / Penguin Colony at the San Lorenzo Patagonian Ranch. Return to the hotel

  3. DAY 3 PUERTO MADRYN - BAHÍA CAMARONES - BAHÍA BUSTAMANTE

    Departure Southwards to Camarones Bay and Cabo 2 Bays where it is possible to see a  penguin colony and wolves. Then continue along the Provincial route until Bustamante Bay. Unique ”alguero” town, lodging with full board at the beach houses, facing the sea.

    Different facets to discover during a stay in Bahía Bustamante:

    • The only algal village in the world. A sustainable and thriving activity that was born in 1953 by a visionary and enterprising man
    • Fauna as protagonist: navigation through the Malaspina Cove to observe penguins, sea lions, cormorants, steam ducks, among other 100 species. It is also likely to have the luck to see orcas and dolphins.
    • A Petrified Forest, a silent vestige of the Paleocene that tells us part of the geological history of Patagonia.

  4. DAY 4 BAHÍA BUSTAMANTE: NAVIGATION

    After breakfast, we gather at the grocery store and assess the weather report and the tide tables to determine whether sailing is possible. We get on the boat and sail along the seaweed fields where we come across vessels working on the seaweed harvest. Later we sail on the mussel crops and tell you all about the breeding online system we use. Finally we come near the islands that are within the cove, approach the Roca Malaspina to continue sailing down the archipelago made up by the Vernacci Islands. While sailing, we can contemplate Sea Lion colonies (3,500 animals during the breeding season), Penguins (100,000) and colorful Marine Bird colonies. Then we moor the boat and return to the village for lunch. In the afternoon, we will explore Graviña Peninsula, a 70 km Peninsula of sandy beaches, crystal clear water and reddish rocks. A combination of 4×4 wheel drive and trekking. If the tide is low, natural swimming pools are formed in the rocks, ideal to take a bath if the weather is good. The peninsula also houses an archeological site. Afterwards, we will visit Penguin Island: Just 15 minutes away from the town by 4×4, this island is home to a small colony of Magellan Penguins. During low tide it is possible to reach the island on foots, giving us the privilege of observing penguins and their nests closely. During the way we will also be able to observe all kinds of Steppe fauna. Dinner in Bahia Bustamante.

  5. DAY 5 BAHÍA BUSTAMANTE - COLONIA SARMIENTO

    Departure in the morning. Part of the route will be asphalt (227 km) and the other part gravel (40 km). After arriving at Colonia Sarmiento you may visit José Ormachea Petrified Forest and hike to the ”Cerros Colorados”. In Sarmiento you can visit the Dinosaur thematic museum.

  6. DAY 6 SARMIENTO - RÍO MAYO - PERITO MORENO - LOS ANTIGUOS (Bi National Park Patagonia)

    Breakfast. Departure from Sarmiento to travel the 320 km of asphalt via Río Mayo to reach Los Antiguos (Bordering the Lake Buenos Aires).

  7. DAY 7 LOS ANTIGUOS - BI NATIONAL PARK

    Full day in the area dedicated to the experience of observing the beautiful Macá Tobiano – in the High Plateau of the Lake Buenos Aires (1400 meters SNM).

  8. DAY 8 LOS ANTIGUOS - CHILE CHICO - PUERTO TRANQUILO (Chile)

    Breakfast. Morning early departure to arrive at the border crossing at 08:00 hs. Arrival to Puerto Tranquilo check in. In the afternoon enjoy a navigation in small boats to visit the Marble Chapels. Route: (200 km gravel – cliff).

  9. DAY 9 TRANQUILO PORT (Chile) - BERTRAND PORT - VALLE CHACABUCO

    Departure from Puerto Tranquilo always on Carretera Austral to reach Bertrand Port and the Confluence of the Baker and Nef Rivers, continuing to the confluence of the Baker and Chacabuco Rivers to the Chacabuco Valley and Portal to lodge at the Chacabuco Valley Lodge. (Route 90 km gravel).

  10. DAY 10 VALLE CHACABUCO - PORTAL PASO ROBALLOS (Argentina) - BAJO CARACOLES - ESTANCIA LOS TOLDOS

    Departure from the Chacabuco Valley to the border with Argentina (P° Roballos) to reach a rural estancia.

    In the afternoon you could visit Cañadón del Río Pinturas and the caves of Manos Pintadas (crossing the Río Pinturas).

    Route 270 km of gravel. Dinner at the Estancia Los Toldos.

  11. DAY 11 ESTANCIA LOS TOLDOS - EL CHALTÉN

    Drive Southwards to El Chaltén, the national trekking capital.

  12. DAY 12 EL CHALTEN

    Enjoy a full day on your own in El Chaltén. You may enjoy a full day trekking to Laguna de los Tres with unforgettable views of the Fitz Roy mount, or discover the treasures around Lago del Desierto area.

  13. DAY 13 EL CHALTÉN - EL CALAFATE

    Departure Southwards to El Calafate, you will have to chance to visit La Leona petrified forest on the way.

  14. DAY 14 EL CALAFATE: PERITO MORENO GLACIER & LOS GLACIARES NATIONAL PARK

    Drive to the impressive Los Glaciares National Park to discover its highlight: the Perito Moreno glacier. It is possible to combine your tour with a navigation getting closer to the glacier, or a longer navigation to see other glaciers too. Kayaking with views of the glacier is also available!

  15. DAY 15 EL CALAFATE - DEPARTURE

    Drive to El Calafate airport and drop off the car to take your flight. Hope you enjoyed this adventure!
