Tour of the most surprising and traditional places in northwestern Argentina. Starting in San Miguel de Tucumán, the city where Argentinian independence history begin more than 200 years ago. Your trip on National Route 40 will take to about 3.384 meters above sea level, where you will visit the most beautiful northern landscapes, specially Cachi, a little town above the clouds. You will continue travelling so you can reach Salta, the beautiful and Jujuy.

  1. DAY 1 TUCUMÁN

    Arrival to Tucumán and transfer from airport to your hotel.
    You will enjoy a city tour arround San Miguel de Tucumán City where you will learn about the roots of Argentinian history. We will visit the Independence Square and its surroundings: the Goverment House, San Francisco Temple, the Cathedral, La Merced Church, the historic Tucumán’s house (museum), 9 de Julio Park, the Sugar Industry Museum, Bishop Colombres House, Urquiza Squere, the Legislation House, the Casino, San Martín theater, Belgraniana House.

  2. DAY 2 TUCUMÁN / TAFÍ DEL VALLE / AMAICHA / RUINAS DE QUILMES / CAFAYATE

    Your trip will take you to the 307 Province Route where begins the ascent through the valleys. The road goes into the River Los Sosa’s Gorge and we stop at the monument ”El Indio”. You will arrive to El Mollar so you can visit Los Menhires. After you are going to visit the picturesque city called Tafí del Valle.
    You will take the same route so you can ascend from Calcachquí Valleys to Abra del Infiernillo. In Amaicha del Valle you will visist the principal square and its surroundings. You will take the miticical 40 National Route so you can see Quilmes Sacred City. You will arrive to Cafayate, land of sun and good wine.

  3. DAY 3 CAFAYATE / CACHI / SALTA

    In the early morning you will departure towards Cachi on Route 40.
    The trip starts crossing the Arrow’s Gorge so you can admire a unique landscape. After that, you will go through the villages Animaná y San Carlos. The trip continues the path on Route 40 so you can see beautiful mountainous landscapes bordering the Calchaquí River near historic towns like Angastaco, Molinos y Seclantás. You will arrive to Cachi by noon.
    After lunch you will continue your trip, crossing Los Cardones National Park through the Tin-Tin Straight, the old Inca road. You will enter the Bishop Slope, where you can enjoy some panoramic views of the Enchanted Valley.

  4. DAY 4 SALTA

    Freem mornign.
    In the afternoon, you will enjoy a city tour arroung Salta where you are going to visit its most attractive places: the Cathedral, the Americas’ cultural center, the North historic Museum (Cabildo), San Francisco Basilica, San Bernando Convent and its panoramic view of the city, the Craft Market and the summer village of San Lorenzo.

  5. DAY 5 PUMAMARCA / HUMAHUACA / TILCARA / SAN SALVADOR DE JUJUY

    You trip to Huamahuaca Gorge will begin with the arrival to the little village of Pumamarca where you can see El Cerro de los Siete Colores, the Churhc and the Craft Market.
    You are going to travel along La Posta de los Hornillos, continuing towards the village of Tilcara so you can visit the Pucará and the Archaeological Museum. The trip continuies to Huacalera, the Capricorn Tropic, where you can see the colours of the hill called Pollera de la Colla. You will visit the Uquía Church where we can find the painting of the Arcabuceros’ Angels.
    Arrival to Humahuaca with its important Cathedral and the Independence Monument called ”El Indio”. After lunch you will go back so we can see the Paleta del Pintor located in Maimara town. Arrive in San Salvador de Jujuy so we can visit the city, specially the Flag’s Hall, the Cathedral and the Lola Mora statue.
    Return to Salta down the mountain road, travelling arround the Abra de Santa Laura, where you can see La Ciénaga Dam, Las Maderas Dam and Campo Alegre Dam.
