Today we will visit the Jesuit Reductions of Trinidad, vestiges that still remain of the great evangelizing campaign of the Jesuit Fathers, dating back to 1706. We continue our journey to Bella Vista, where the Selecta yerba mate factory is located. There, we will have a guided tour where we will observe the entire yerba mate production cycle, beginning in the nursery, the plantations, the drying area, and the barbacuá (the traditional drying and processing area), where the yerba mate is made. We will also see the mill and packaging process, culminating in a demonstration and tasting of tereré, mate, or the traditional cocido (a type of yerba mate tea). We will also have the opportunity to visit the museum where antique machinery used in the yerba mate production process is on display. At the end, we returned to the Encarnación.
