Overview

The best thing to take a first pulse to the city of Río de Janeiro is to take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront of Copacabana beach.

Sportsmen, walkers, retailers of sarongs and tourists from around the world are confused in this scenario that looks like a travel postcard. Try a delicious caipirinha at one of the kiosks on the beach is the perfect way to start an unforgettable vacation in Río de Janeiro and at the same time feel like a whole carioca.

But beyond its famous beaches, there are many places to visit in Río de Janeiro, each beautiful and amazing. Of course it is impossible to start a tour, especially if it is the first, for something other than a visit to the amazing Christ the Redeemer Corcovado, the world’s most famous Art Deco sculpture and one of the highest viewpoints in the city, continuing of course with the Pan de Azúcar and its, not less famous, “cable cars”.

The central district and the port area are home to most of Rio’s historic monuments such as the Imperial Palace, the Municipal Theater, the Arcos de Lapa or the Candelaria Church, but there are also the main museums and cultural centers, such as the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Historical Museum or the Banco de Brasil Cultural Center.

Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    RÍO DE JANEIRO: COPACABANA

    Arrival in Rio and private transfer to hotel with guide assistance. Overnight in Río de Janeiro, standard room.

  2. Day 2

    RÍO DE JANEIRO: SUGAR LOAF

    Breakfast at hotel and departure for HD private tour to Sugar Loaf (4hrs) Arrival at the neighborhood of Urca, where it is located one of the largest symbols of the city: the Sugar Loaf. This visit is made in two steps by cable car.The first cable car takes passengers to Urca Hill which is 215 meters high and from where one can have a beautiful view from the Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niterói bridge and Corcovado hill. From this stage, a second cable car will be taken up to the top with 395 meters to find a splendid view from Copacabana beach, the Santa Cruz fortress and some beaches of Niterói. Return to hotel and balance of the day at leisure. Overnight in Río de Janeiro, standard room (B)

  3. Day 3

    RÍO DE JANEIRO: CORCOVADO

    Breakfast at hotel and departure for HD private tour to Corcovado (4hrs) From many places in the city, the visitor can see the most beautiful postcard of Rio de Janeiro since 1931: Christ the Redeemer statue located at Corcovado mountain, 710 meters above the sea level. This tour begins at Cosme Velho neighborhood, from where the cog train starts the trip up to the statue, through the Tijuca Forest. Once there, a panoramic and extraordinary view of Rio will be seeing including the Sugar Loaf, the Guanabara Bay, the beaches of Southern Zone and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. Return to hotel and balance of the day at leisure. Overnight in Río de Janeiro, standard room. (B)

  4. Day 4

    RÍO DE JANEIRO - DEPARTURE

    Breakfast at hotel. Private transfer to the airport (only driver, no guide). (B)
