EL CALAFATE: EOLO LODGE SPIRIT – 5 DAYS 4 NIGHTS

EOLO embodies the spirit of Patagonia. Built on the land where the first creole and European immigrants of the area initially set foot, one can’t help but sense the aura of adventure that the thousands of travelers who journeyed through this area have left behind. Visitors not only leave their mark but also depart with a sense of having been deeply transformed by the experience. The hotel is conveniently located halfway between the city of El Calafate and Los Glaciares National Park, yet far from the commotion of the tourist activity in the area. The 10,000 acres property is a paradise for horseback riding, mountain bike rides, trekking, bird watching and, of course, to fully enjoy the subtle elegance of the installations. The lot where the lodge stands extends to 10.000 acres, 30 minutes away from El Calafate, on the way to the Perito Moreno glacier. It is a unique property that expands from a lagoon to forests on the Cerro Frias’s slopes. Being that these activities take place in a unique setting and are exclusive to our guests, we recommend adapting your itinerary to take some of these tours. All these activities take place at Eolo without any additional transfer. To help visitors make the choice that is right for them, we divide the itineraries per area. Our recommendation is for visitors to choose one activity per area, per day. Keep in mind that the activities that take place outside our property do have an additional cost. Activities at EOLO:

• Trekking: On the surroundings of Eolo, one can either gentle walks or intense hinking treks. The most frequent outings are: climb up the Cerro Frias viewpoints (5/6 hours high intensity) or walk to the flamingos lagoon (2,3 hours low intensity). You can perform this treks on your own or with a guide from Eolo. Activity with no additional cost.
• Mountain Biking: Cycle rides through unique paths and trails of La Anita Valley, surrounded by the typical landscape of the area: the steppe with the mountains in the background. Activity with no additional cost. (medium intensity)
• Bird Watching: It´s a hike to venture out and discover the birds that inhabit this region. You can observe a wide variety of birds native of this area, among which the condor stands out with it´s majestic flight. Activity with no additional cost.
• Horseback Riding: It is an unforgettable experience to get acquainted with the Patagonian Gaucho lifestyle, enjoying panoramic views in a unique and exclusive surrounding. The activity begins at Eolo with two main options. A climb up the slopes of Cerro Frias, or a ride to the Flamingos lagoon. (2 hours, low intensity) Activity with additional cost.
• 4×4: It is a 4×4 tour to admire the stunning views and scenery surrounding Eolo without any physical effort. The trail begins by the foothills of the Cerro Frias,with intermediate stops at viewpoints before reaching the top. (2 hours, low intensity) Activity with additional cost.
• Zip line: It is a recreational activity that takes place descending amidst forests and the slopes of the Cerro Frias. The zip line has unique characteristics because of its length: there are five sections of aproximately 1,500 feet each, making it an unparalleled activity in the area.
