Overview
Corrientes is a province in the south of Misiones (where the Iguazu Falls are located). The geography of this region is dramatically different. Leaving the hills of Misiones, visitors will begin to see the great plains of Corrientes. This environment is full of marshlands and small lagoons, making a paradise for birds and other animals native to the region such as giant rodents called capicara, alligators, deers and foxes.
Arrive to the middle of the Esteros del Ibera where there are a number of small cottages to choose from for lodging. There are lots of activities in the area such as horseback riding, canooing and trekking to name a few. Each cottage provides comfortable lodging, a typical breakfast and lunch or dinner (asado, barbeque).
