From our hotel we walk up the extinct volcano Rano Kau, through meadows and little forests, always seeing the beautiful wide coast of the Pacific ocean in front of us. We will appreciate a beautiful view over the whole island and with its different geological features. At the end of our trail we arrive at an outlook with a breathtaking view at the crater lake of Rano Kau. Afterwards you will walk to the ceremonial village of Orongo, where the birdman competition took place and you can see the spectacular petroglyphs related to this culture and the 3 islands situated opposite the coast. Then we walk down again to the Ana Kai Tangata cave with its paintings before we return to the hotel.
