Overview
We begin this wonderful experience from the Puerto Varas city travelling by the Panamerican Road, 20 KM north route to reach Frutillar city, from where we will go into the mountains to the coast.
The V -20 road goes away from the city and begins to penetrate the lands that
belonged to the cacique Catrihuala 1544, who at the time lived a series of legendary stories and struggles.
The creation of the ” Royal Road”, the first land route created by the Spanish
Crown that united Valdivia city to Chiloe Island, allowed the emergence of a
number of small towns between cities and connecting south along the coast,
between the towns which the vast majority was nothing more than simple villages
where predominated agricultural work, while others managed to consolidate in
towns and cities, can name for example Concordia, Tegualda, Crucero and Riachuelo Village, which in its few streets gathers more than 50 heritage houses
French and German style built from 1885, including its parish church built in the
early XX century, and whose wooden interior recalls the churches from Chiloe.
The rich architecture with houses made of wood with two or three floors, exterior
corridors make the town a place worth visiting for lovers of heritage. Continuing
our tour we reach the town to San Juan of the coast, known for being one of the
main areas where the Huilliche live until these days, ending in a large beach, excellent for ecotourism, such as Pucatrihue, Maicolpué and Bahia Mansa pier.
Recommendations: Comfortable clothes and shoes, hat, sunblock, sunglasses and if it rains a water resistant jacket.
